What Hermes can access

When you connect a Google account, Hermes Agent can read and act on Gmail, Calendar, Drive (including Docs, Sheets and Slides), Contacts and Tasks, only when you ask it to. Nous never uses data from Google to train AI models, and only sends it to model providers whose terms with us forbid training on it.

Where your data is kept

Your Google sign-in. Held encrypted by our integration provider until you disconnect the account or delete your Nous account.

Content a Google tool returned, such as an email Hermes read. Kept by the Nous connector service for up to 14 days, so a retried action does not run twice, then deleted automatically.

Conversations that include Google data. Stored on your device by Hermes Agent until you delete them. On Hermes Cloud they stay in your instance until you delete the instance. Nous cannot read either.

Copies of those conversations. Kept by the Nous inference service as described in the Privacy Policy. Google tool content is removed before any training use.

Disconnect a Google account in Hermes

In the Hermes desktop app, open Capabilities, then Connectors, choose the Google app (for example Gmail or Google Drive) and choose Disconnect. If you connected more than one account to that app, choose Remove next to the account you want to drop. Repeat for each Google app you connected.

In the terminal, run hermes connectors disconnect gmail, replacing gmail with the app name. Add --alias to pick one account when you have several.

Disconnecting deletes the connection and its stored credentials and revokes our access with Google. It does not delete conversations already on your device.

Remove access from Google's side

Go to myaccount.google.com/permissions, find Nous Research and remove access. Hermes can no longer use the account.

Delete conversations

In the Hermes desktop app, right-click a session in the sidebar and choose Delete. In the terminal, run hermes sessions delete <session id>, or hermes sessions prune to delete older sessions in bulk.

To remove everything Hermes keeps on your device, run hermes uninstall --full. It removes the app along with its settings, sessions and memories.

For Hermes Cloud, open Agents in the portal and delete the instance. That permanently deletes its memories, sessions and skills.

Delete your Nous account

Open Account settings and choose Delete Account. Your API keys stop working, Hermes Cloud instances stop and you are signed out right away. You have 7 days to cancel. After that, your account, your Hermes Cloud instances and your connected accounts are deleted, and access to connected accounts is revoked. Content a Google tool returned is deleted within 14 days.

Ask us to delete your data

Email privacy@nousresearch.com from your account's email address and name the Google account. We will confirm when it is done.
